06-18 - Italian GP - Valentino Rossi recovers quickly from his fall in motocross -

Valentino Rossi, transferred to the hospital in Rimini (Italy) last Wednesday following a fall in motocross, was able to leave the hospital services on Friday evening following the favorable evolution of his thoracic and abdominal trauma considered "minor". The nine-time world champion continues his convalescence at home, his pain related to slight liver and kidney damage having significantly reduced.

The n ° 46, descended from first to third place in the MotoGP provisional classification after his Le Mans (72), is now focusing on "his" home race: the Italian Grand Prix, sixth meeting of the season and third in Europe scheduled for this weekend on the magnificent Mugello circuit. Rossi will try to win his first victory there in order to relaunch in the title race against Viñales and Pedrosa, respectively first and second in the provisional, and Marc Marquez (4th).

If the Mugello is a course that is quite successful for Valentino Rossi (7 consecutive MotoGP victories from 2002 to 2008!), Winning will not be an easy task, especially since he could suffer from discomfort related to his cabriole in MX. In addition, Rossi is never again on the top step of the podium at Mugello since the end of his winning streak in 2008, or even on the second: for the last eight seasons, the Doctor has not done better than third. (2009, 2014 and 2015) and even has several white results (2010, 2013 and 2016).

Another interesting statistic noted by MNC concerning Mugello: since its heavy fall during the tests of the GP of Italy 2010 – with the key! – Rossi never managed to win another world crown … His last title dates back to the season preceding this rather traumatic fall, because it marked the first serious injury of the genius of the mountain pastures.
