- BMW F 650 CS as a template for “energy efficient” Counterfeit
Everything about BMW Motorrad
Jonway JJ 250: Yikes, what’s that? According to the Chinese manufacturer, this model is based on the BMW F 650 CS, which was built between 2001 and 2005.
The Wonjan WJ 300 GS imitates the Ducati 1098.
According to the manufacturer, only one of this imitation was made “limited edition” produced.
Lifan Hunter 125: This model has clearly taken the Ducati Scrambler Icon as a template. A little Honda MSX 125 at the front is also to be suspected.
The small Jiajue 400 seems to want to be confused with a Kawasaki Z 1000.
It is powered by a 400 cc two-cylinder with a maximum of 20 hp.
Jiajue C8: 125 cc or 150 cc single cylinders provide propulsion for this Duke plagiarism.
The look is copied from the first generation of the Duke 125, 200 and 390.
The China-Duke is not only available in orange, gray is also available.
Tastefully? The advertisement with the aircraft carrier in the background and a lady with a captain’s hat.
The maximum speed of the Duke plagiarism is said to be 90 km / h.
Jiajue R15: a copy of the Honda CBR 250 R.
Although it looks less like the little CBR from the front.
Kengo 350: Not painted in Kawasaki colors, but exposed as a would-be ninja 300.
Kengo 350: The cockpit shows up to 13,000 rpm, but the engine only turns up to around 8,500 rpm.
Kengo 350: Kengo is also variable in terms of color, after all the customer should have a choice.
Kengo X 350: What about Kawa “Z”, is that with Kengo “X” – Kango doubles the Kawasaki Z 300.
Winjan WJ 300: This plagiarism was obviously modeled on a Ducati Streetfighter that is no longer up-to-date.
Here an imitation of a Honda MSX 125 is advertised, which is very popular in the entire Asian market.
Technically, the Mini Dodge Tomahawk has nothing in common with the real Dodge Tomahawk, which incidentally costs half a million euros.

Compliment or crime?
Whether fakes are a compliment to the successful originals or just cheap – decide for yourself. We’ll show you 10 plagiarisms from China.

Handbags, sneakers, cars, electronic devices – there is almost nothing for which plagiarism is not offered on the Asian market. And the counterfeiters – or to put it cautiously, the imitators – don’t stop at motorcycles either. Sometimes the design doesn’t hit the bull’s eye, and often it is totally off the mark. Nevertheless, it is unmistakably recognizable which original motorcycle each Chinese model refers to. It is also clear that the plagiarism does not even come close to the technical and especially not the security standards. The European quality controls are unlikely to pass, if at all, very few. However, since the models are mainly intended for the domestic Chinese market, the hurdles for local dissemination remain rather low.
The models are particularly popular among brand-conscious drivers who cannot afford the original. Most of the time, the shape and color of the fairing refer to the original bikes, but the engines are mainly smaller engines – often single-cylinder with 150, 200 and 300 cc, but sometimes 400 cc two-cylinder.
BMW F 650 CS as a template for “energy efficient” Counterfeit
There are almost no limits, like our colleagues from 1000PS report: Whether a limited edition in the design of the Ducati 1098 in a tricolor outfit, a cheap-looking copy of a Streetfighter from the last decade with a red painted tubular space frame or a mini version of the Ducati Scrambler with 14-inch rims, which is also on the front somewhat reminiscent of a Honda MSX 125. The Duke series is also very popular with counterfeiters, and Kawasaki has to have several “Zs” and ninjas, from Honda for example the CBR 250 R. The German motorcycle manufacturer BMW also serves as a popular template: Jonway uses this for his model named “YY 250” on the BMW F 650 CS and praises it as powerful and energy-efficient thanks “the large tank of this electric scooter” on.
Fortunately, there are no official importers for the imitation bikes from China in Germany. Individual models can be ordered via the Alibaba trading platform, but often with transport costs that far exceed the purchase price. For example with the Mini Dodge Tomahawk from China, which we covered. It costs the equivalent of 1,000 euros, but shipping costs 4,200 US dollars, i.e. around 3,900 euros.
