In China, a contract manufacturer snatched a design from F.B. Mondial and applied for a patent himself. Now F.B. Mondial and gets his rights back.

At the end of November 2020, design drafts came to light at the Chinese patent office, with which a contract manufacturer wanted to protect a small single-cylinder tracker model. There was speculation about Zongshen and an upcoming small Aprilia model. MOTORRAD had already taken a closer look back then and in the patent pictures the F.B. Mondial Flat Track 125, which is already available in this country.

Conclusion

As a 150, the Aprilia Track would be of no interest for the European market. As a 125cc, her look could certainly find an audience for her. F.B. Mondial already has the apparently identical model at the start.
