In November 2020, the following design sketches were registered for patent in China.
A Chinese contract manufacturer had used it to protect the national rights to the model.
If you look closely you will recognize the already presented F.B.Mondial Flat Track 125.
Now Pelpi International, owner of the F.B Mondial brand, speaks out and declares that this design patent application was unlawful.
The contract manufacturer used the corona crisis and the associated market launch delay by F.B.Mondial to quickly patent the model for China itself.
Pelpi International has taken legal action against this and is confident that the relevant registration with the Chinese patent office will be deleted in the near future.
The F.B.Mondial Flat Track 125 is only produced under the F.B.Mondial label and is marketed worldwide.
It was already presented at EICMA 2019.
It was then launched in September 2020.
125 tracker: Patent drawings stolen from F.B.Mondial
Stolen patent drawings from F.B. Mondial
In China, a contract manufacturer snatched a design from F.B. Mondial and applied for a patent himself. Now F.B. Mondial and gets his rights back.
At the end of November 2020, design drafts came to light at the Chinese patent office, with which a contract manufacturer wanted to protect a small single-cylinder tracker model. There was speculation about Zongshen and an upcoming small Aprilia model. MOTORRAD had already taken a closer look back then and in the patent pictures the F.B. Mondial Flat Track 125, which is already available in this country.

As a 150, the Aprilia Track would be of no interest for the European market. As a 125cc, her look could certainly find an audience for her. F.B. Mondial already has the apparently identical model at the start.
