Honda Crosser further improved

Honda has upgraded the quarter-liter crosser CRF 250 R for the 2019 model year and improved many details.

B.honda had already redesigned the crosser CRF250R on a grand scale in 2018. For the 2019 model year, more details have now been added. The new generation received a three-stage launch control, a new double-piston brake caliper at the front, a four-way adjustable Renthal Fatbar handlebar as well as blackened DID aluminum rims and improved protectors for fork and motor.

In the engine, the technicians want to have found more torque at low revs without having cut the single cylinder in peak performance. For this purpose, the throttle valve diameter has been reduced by 2 mm to 44 mm, the intake and exhaust ports have been revised, and the valve timing of the exhaust camshaft has been modified (by minus 2
Degrees) and the right-hand exhaust manifold shortened by 50 mm. The aluminum frame and Showa chassis remained unchanged in the 2019 model year. In return, the alternator output was cut a little.

The 2019 CRF250R is expected to be available from November 2018. Prices were not mentioned.

Big update already in 2018

Honda CRF 250 R – 2018 model year.

Compact design, but moderate revving – the Honda technicians have tried to bridge this technical dichotomy with the Unicam valve train of the Honda CRF 250 R since its appearance in 2004. With moderate success. In 14 years, the Reds got only one world title in the MX2 class. Now everything should get better. A new dohc motor with a shorter stroke – and an electric starter – should deliver the required speeds of around 13,500 rpm. A shorter frame, suspension fork instead of air fork and the look of the 450 complete the makeover of the off-roader.
