8H Oschersleben 2015: declarations of the winners

Christophe Guyot, team manager GMT94 : "We have worked a lot on the bike and the whole team has been involved for months. This victory is the reward. The new Yamaha R1 is a great bike. Our pace in the race was very fast. All three riders have had a remarkable race. They are very motivated for the Bol d’Or. I thank the Oschersleben circuit for the welcome and their motivation to organize this race ".

David Checa, GMT94 driver : "In my head the race was won. Our competitors were riding very well but I managed to get really comfortable with the bike and I rode faster in the race than in qualifying. I thank the team for everything The work they did. Nothing to say about the bike which was perfect. It had been three and a half years since we had won a race. We were only world champions with second places and it’s really nice to get back to winning ways! We’re going to the Bol d’Or to win the race and if we can be world champions that will be exceptional ".

Kenny Foray, GMT94 pilot : "It’s so great to win back a race! We fought the whole race, whether it was David, Mathieu or me, we rode as well as possible when it was necessary. I am very proud to be in this race. team and to have won this race with the force of the handle ".

Mathieu Gines, GMT94 driver : "It’s my first victory in the endurance world championship and we won in a good way. We had a solid race, everyone drove really fast. In the end we managed to finish in front and it’s nice. We also take points for the championship but it is above all this victory that has a particular taste for me. I really want to thank the whole team because it was a fantastic race ".

While admitting that "the end of the race was difficult", David Checa emphasizes that "we have proved that the new Yamaha is working very well (we remember that the # 21 Yamaha Factory Racing Team R1 won the races at the hands of Pol Espargaro, Bradley Smith and Katsuyuki Nakasuga, NDLR), and then winning here ".

Within the SERT, Vincent Philippe remains positive: "we know that the GMT94 is very fast on the track and we are fast in the pits, it is balanced and we were disadvantaged by the interventions of the safety car", explains the pilot of Besançon: "we fought well, we didn’t give up and given the number of crashes and mechanical problems experienced by many teams, we can only be satisfied with the result, especially since we let’s keep the lead of the world championship ".

"23 points ahead, that’s the most important"

"We suffered a puncture towards the end of the race and the two interventions of the safety car were unfavorable to us", confirms the team manager Dominique Meliand, but "this second place gives us a lead of 23 points on the GMT94 and this is the most important! "

The No. 7 Yamaha from YART, which was also aiming for victory, was content with the third step of the podium. "We were delayed at the start of the race by electronic problems and then by a small crash", explains Ivan Silva, "but we didn’t waste too much time. We are three pilots of the same level and it is appreciable to ride within a homogeneous crew ".

Fourth scratch, the Suzuki n ° 72 of Junior Team Le Mans Sud finished first in the Superstock category despite the threat of the local team Volpker NRT 48 which lost all its chances after the fall of Marco Neckvasil. Starteam Pam-Racing and Team Traqueur Louit Moto 33 complete the Superstock podium.
