The ABS Wheelie Bar comes from South Korea – a very pragmatically designed aid if you want to learn to ride on the rear wheel.

Wheelies testify to the driver’s control of the vehicle and astonish the audience around them. However, the path to a controlled unicycle ride is not an easy one.

Most two-wheelers more or less lift the front wheel with the correct interaction between the accelerator and clutch hand and the correct shift in weight. But the feeling for the right interaction has to be learned. How high the front wheel rises can be regulated with the accelerator hand and the foot brake. Anyone who approaches the matter too vehemently and messes up the saving step on the footbrake risks a rollover.

This is exactly where the ABS Wheelie Bar comes in. A multi-part, long lever arm is rotatably mounted in the center and attached to the side of the rear swing arm. The manufacturer relies on a shirt-sleeved screw clamp. A roller made of inline skaters is mounted at the rear end. At the front end a spring is controlled by a wire rope, which is fixed with a hook on the foot brake lever. If the system is correctly adjusted, the rear roller touches the asphalt as the front wheel rises and activates the foot brake using the rocker. The impulse causes the front wheel to tip over and thus saves the situation. The further the wire rope is shortened, the earlier the wheelie bar intervenes.

The aluminum-made and 3.3 kilogram ABS wheelie bar is available right next to it manufacturer at prices from 258 euros plus shipping and customs.
