Newcomers 2011: Exciting bikes

With the 750 Dorsoduro, Aprilia has had a racy driving machine on offer for some time – now the 1200 is going one better. The finest Supermoto pleasure wants to offer the FeHe Italian: at 130 hp a comprehensible announcement. The newly developed 90-degree V2, which with its 115 Newton meters should have no problems bringing the new product, which weighs a good 200 kilos, up to speed, provides adequate thrust.
"Pure excitement – adrenaline on request" promises the advertising text: it is up to the driver how far he opens the throttle. Because the Aprilia, which is strictly tailored to use as a supermoto, has plenty of reserves when it comes to chassis geometry and sporty handling.

Electric helpers for better control

But you should also have reserves – of a financial nature – yourself: The 1200 starts at 11,799 euros and is therefore 2,600 euros more than the cheapest 750 Dorsoduro. But there is the big sister optional with meaningful electric helper, which make the wild driving pleasure a good deal safer: ABS and the slip control ATC are offered in combination – for exactly 1000 euros. If you want to go around the houses with the big sisters, you have to let something jump.

  1. Glad that the GSX-R 750 is mentioned again
(still the best usable one for me – without electronic helpers, alla ABS/DTC/etc. – overall concept). Personally, I’m missing the 600r GSX-R renovated for 2011 (or the MV Augusta F3 announced for autumn – or the upgraded Triumph Daytona 675 "R") and most notably the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10 R. P.S. Farther "Good Trip"
