Located between the Profile-V and the RX-7V, the Quantic marks a brand new generation of sporty touring helmets from Arai. It is geared towards the sporty, touristy long-distance driver. The helmet is already after the new one Standard ECE R22-06 homologated.

Depending on the market, this one wears Arai another name – either Quantic (in Europe for example) or Astro-GX (as in Japan for example). As is customary with Arai and most other manufacturers, the outer shell of the new Quantic is handcrafted from – please take a breath – Peripherally Belted e-Complex Laminate Construction (PB e-cLc), i.e. a special plastic reinforced with glass fibers (GRP) . The new material should bring a significant weight reduction while maintaining the same strength. A softer, high-density EPS inner shell works with the outer shell to absorb impact energy. The smoother and rounder shape of the helmet is primarily designed to absorb and better distribute impact forces.

With the Quantic, Arai uses a completely new form of helmet ventilation for the first time. A total of 12 inlet and outlet openings should ensure a pleasant climate. The Quantic is also intended for the assembly of a communication system and has a pocket on the neck for cables that are too long.

New ventilation

The new ventilation system of the Arai Quantic is based on 12 ventilation openings with six inlet and six outlet openings. The new 3D Arai logo on the forehead directs the air through two openings into the inner shell of the helmet and should also work well at low speeds. This inlet can easily be opened or closed even with summer or winter gloves. The ventilation is supported by two inlets on the top, the ventilation openings in the visor and the also new, three-position adjustable, air scoop chin valve, which has a replaceable filter. The heated air is discharged via the one-piece spoiler, the two side air outlets and the neck pad.

New upholstery with integrated cable pocket 

Based on the interior of the Profile-V and the RX-7V, the interior of the Quantic has been completely redesigned to ensure maximum comfort, good ventilation and low weight. Arai responded primarily to the feedback that the previous model was difficult to put on and take off due to the narrow opening with newly shaped cushions. The brushed nylon helmet padding is easy to remove for cleaning, washing or adjusting. In the area of ​​the neck there is a small pocket in the cushion to stow excessively long cables of a retrofitted communication system.

Proven Arai features and choices

The new Arai Quantic will be available in seven different colors in sizes XS to XXL. The special sizes XXXS-XXS and XXXL are only available in solid colors. The arai-typical visors with additional visor ventilation are provided with pin-lock holders as usual. The new Quantic will be available in white from May for 649 euros. The multi-colored Quantic costs a good 729 euros and the snake designs are available for 769 euros. Arai has not yet communicated how much the helmet weighs.

Conclusion

New helmet from Arai for speedy riders on big tours with a new type of ventilation system for a high air flow rate without drafts and for a pleasant climate in the helmet. The Quantic is also already homologated according to the new helmet standard. Much seems to be right here.
