We are celebrating our 20th birthday this year. Date of birth! Of course we would have gladly welcomed you personally at our anniversary celebration – unfortunately this has to be canceled due to the corona. As a little consolation we thought about one “virtual fair” to organize and introduce you to our latest BMW Motorrad conversions and our company headquarters online via video.

Much has happened and changed in the last 20 years since our company boss Helmut Horny designed his first theft-proof oil cap in 2001, thus laying the foundation for the company. At the time, he was out and about on his motorcycle in Italy and was confronted with a phenomenon that he had never seen before: pranksters and souvenir hunters had unscrewed the oil cap from his BMW and took it with them. Since this can be extremely dangerous for the engine of the machine if other liquids or dirt are mixed with the oil, the trained mechanical engineer developed an oil plug at home that could not be easily removed in the twinkling of an eye, but only removed with an Allen key. With this development he seemed to have hit the nerve of many BMW drivers – the oil caps became the hit.

While motorcycle accessories Hornig GmbH was initially operated in the increasingly narrow premises in Ritzenried, we decided in 2010 to move to a new and larger company building in Cham. Since then, our product range has grown to over 4000 special items for BMW motorcycles and is constantly being expanded so that we can equip our customers with innovative and high-quality products for both the older and the very latest BMW motorcycle models. Several times a year we refine the latest BMW models with products from our range that serve to increase safety, better driving comfort and also the individualized appearance of the motorcycle. In addition, we have made it our business to transform a somewhat aging motorcycle into a trendy retro scrambler that will attract everyone’s attention around once a year. Our conversions can either be on our Websiteor “live” can be examined in the showroom in Cham or at trade fairs. In our customer-friendly online shop, which has already received the website and usability award, BMW motorcycle fans can browse as they please and purchase accessory products specially tailored to their motorcycle model. We are always open to questions about our products or suggestions and offer our customers competent service by email, telephone and of course (if the Corona regulations permit) on site in Cham. We also provide installation videos for most of our products in the online shop so that our customers can assemble the parts they have ordered easily and as quickly as possible.

Lines of the front fender for BMW R18

We offer you the service of lining the front fender of your BMW R18 based on the original rear fender and tank. The hand lines are made on your fender, which you must therefore send to us. The lines are specially made for you and cannot be returned. A time of approx. 2 weeks must be expected for the lines (from the time the fender arrived).

Important: If your original fender is damaged, there are scratches or the paint has flaked off, we cannot line the fender. The fender will then be sent back to you at your own expense. Hand-lining is only possible on parts that have not been subsequently processed with nano-sealing.

In the event that you do not want to send your own fender to us, we also offer a new BMW R18 fender with lines.

Further lines (e.g. side cover) are possible on request.
