Noble full-face helmets in the MOTORRAD test

Above all, helmets should of course protect. It is best to be light at the same time, because then, for example, the neck muscles are less stressed. MOTORRAD took a close look at four noble carbon helmets – and compared them with a premium sports helmet without carbon.

Carbon. The stuff dreams are made of – at least for weight fetishists. The carbon fiber material combines the best stability with little weight. So it is hardly surprising that helmet manufacturers have also discovered the light fiber for themselves. However, carbon helmets in which the shells are made largely of the lightweight material are rather rare. MOTORRAD has found four examples: the AGV Pista GP R Carbon, the LS2 Arrow C Evo, the Shark Race-R Pro Carbon and the X-lite X-803 Ultra Carbon. In order to be able to classify the carbon helmets under the aspect of shock absorption – the most important test criterion – as well as in terms of weight, another X-lite X-803 with a composite fiber shell instead of carbon rounds off the comparison.
