Fresh material from Aprilia at INTERMOT 2016: The Italian manufacturer showed some revised models at the trade fair in Cologne.
The two Aprilia super sports cars introduced last year R.SV4 RR and Aprilia RSV4 RF, as well as the naked bike variants Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 RR and Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory will receive some updates for 2017.
In addition to the changes to meet the Euro4 standard, the brakes, the chassis and the assistance systems in particular have been fundamentally revised. The engines have also been changed slightly and should be even more revving compared to the previous year.
Aprilia has given the two super athletes and naked bikes a new traction control (Aprilia Traction Control), which can now be adjusted eight times without having to turn the throttle. The wheelie control, which can be adjusted in three stages, should now respond better and can also be adjusted while driving with the throttle open.
The Aprilia Launch Control has also been revised and should now be even more sensitive. Shifting down the gears is possible on the new models without using the clutch. The new models are equipped with a so-called Aprilia Pit Limiter, with which the speed in the pit lane can be regulated. Cruise control is now part of the standard equipment of the big 2017 Aprilias. Also new: a TFT color display that can be used to switch back and forth between the two driving modes “Road” and “Race”.
Aprilia RS 125 and Tuono 125
One or the other has also happened with the 125cc models from Aprilia. In terms of looks, the little Aprilias don’t have to hide from their big sister models. Technically, the Aprilia RS 125 (formerly “RS4 125”) and the Aprilia Tuono 125 are identical.
When it comes to the drive, Aprilia uses the same four-stroke four-valve engine in both models, which meets the Euro4 standard and should shine with its low consumption. How much the two 125cc will cost is not yet known.
