Many new motorcycle registrations on legal entities run on motorcycle dealers. But even driving schools, companies and authorities do not register their vehicles as private individuals. Emergency vehicles, for example used by the police, fire brigade and paramedics, make up part of the motorcycle approvals. We introduce you to some models.
BMW F 750 GS for paramedics
The new F 750 GS rolls in with the 77 hp and 853 cm³ two-cylinder. The combination of comfort, maneuverability and a few off-road qualities should keep the application area of the “small” BMW Enduro versatile. In addition to the emergency service film, the special vehicle is equipped with several LED flashing lights and an LED rotating beacon, each of which can be switched between the colors blue and yellow. The entire lighting system and the siren are controlled via the control panel next to the handles. The luggage system offers space for the equipment and fire extinguisher required on site.
BMW R 1200 RT Firexpress
When it comes to emergency vehicles, fire engines are rather rare. At Interschutz 2015, BMW presented the following models: the BMW R 1200 RT Firexpress and the BMW F 800 GS. The use of such vehicles makes sense in cities, because there motorcycles can reach the scene much earlier than the large fire engines. The RT Firexpress rolls up with two tanks with 25 liters of water-foam mixture each, which is distributed with a 30-meter-long hose for fire fighting. Blue light, emergency light and radio system are of course also on board.
BMW R 1200 RT for military police
At the GPEC (General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference) 2016 in Frankfurt, BMW presented the following motorcycles for police operations: R 1200 RT, F 700 GS and F 800 GS. Specially designed for the military police, the BMW R 1200 RT has blue LED flashing beacons at the front and a blue LED rotating flashing beacon on a telescopic pole. Also on board: voice announcement system, radio preparation in the rear for the digital radio, side case with a total volume of 56 liters, protective bar for the case and below the front panel and an additional battery.
BMW F 700 GS
The BMW F 700 GS is also still well represented in official use at the moment. For this purpose, it is equipped with LED flashing beacons and a blue LED all-round flashing beacon on a telescopic pole, and a radio box in the rear including radio preparation is also available. Waterproof suitcases, fire extinguishers, protective bars and an additional battery complete the equipment of this police motorcycle.
The BMW F 800 GS is prepared for work by the police, emergency services and the military, on and off the road. Like the RT and the F 700 GS, it also comes with all the necessary signal transmitters (visible and audible), storage space, radio preparation and an additional battery.
