With the XRide, BMW has a new textile driving suit in its range. An additional rain jacket and rain pants make the suit weatherproof.

The two-piece XRide suit is made of the upper material polyamide with leather attachments and relies on a high degree of freedom of movement. So that the protectors stay where they belong, BMW has designed a strap technology in which an elastic fabric strap additionally fixes the protectors. Accordion stretch and ergonomic folds on the arms, shoulders and knees also ensure more freedom of movement.

The leather of the jacket is backed with elastic and abrasion-resistant polyamide on the shoulders and arms. On the shoulders there are close fitting NP3 protectors, elbows, hips and knees are protected with NP2 protectors and the back is protected with an NP-Pro-long protector. In areas at risk of falling, as well as on the inside of the trousers, there are cowhide inserts that offer additional protection. Reflectors on the upper arms, the front of the jacket, the knees and the lower leg area ensure good visibility in traffic.

Waterproof only with overcoat

The jacket has four front pockets, one of which is waterproof, one back and two inside pockets. An AirVent system in the front with a double zip and the 3D spacer fabric in the back provide air conditioning. An additional zipper at the leg end provides additional comfort. The trousers have a total of three pockets, one of which is inside.

The XRide combination also includes a rain jacket with an integrated waterproof balaclava and rain pants with long side zippers. However, both must be carried separately. The XRide suit is available for men in sizes 46 to 66, 98 to 118 and 24 to 32, for women in sizes 34 to 48. Prices start at around 1,400 euros for the combination. The jacket is available from 780 euros, the trousers from 600 euros.

Limited special jacket

In addition, BMW also offers an XRide Pro jacket in a limited edition of 1,500 pieces. The XRide Pro men’s jacket is a special highlight with its white cowhide inserts on the arms. The leather is backed with elastic textile and thus ensures greater flexibility in these areas. The eye-catching shoulder sliders made from a combination of plastic and steel with BMW branding set additional accents. The XRide Pro jacket is available for men in sizes 46 to 60. The price here is 950 euros.
