The American motorcycle manufacturer Buell is back. Under its new owner, the brand wants to build super sports bikes, enduros and tourers.

In 2016, Bill Melvin took over what was left of Eric Buell Racing (EBR). At the end of 2018, Buell will start with a limited one New edition of the superbike EBR 1190 in three variants. Melvin has owned the rights to the Buell brand since 2020. In February 2021, Melvin announced big plans for the brand’s future.
Enduro and other engines
“Buell is back!” announced Bill Melvin in a press release. “We’re excited to bring Buell back with this great selection of superbikes and performance motorcycles. We start with the fastest American production motorcycles, hand-built in the USA. So this is a good start!” Various touring and adventure models are to follow on this platform later. Melvin also announces the expansion of sales to other large markets.

The Buell 1190 Super Touring is slated to arrive in 2021.
Buell plans to launch 10 new models by 2024. Dirt, dual sport, touring and cruiser models are explicitly mentioned. But they should all be knitted around the well-known V2 architecture with the 185 hp 1.190 engine from the EBR 1190. Buell also wants to expand its range to include engines with medium and small displacement. When all models are rolled out, Buell will have four different engines at the start, emphasizes Melvin. In addition, a model with an electric drive is being tested. With all of his plans, Melvin also says he is open to working with other manufacturers.
To underline its ambitions, Melvin has built a new production facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Brand founder Erik Buell himself is now trying his hand at the Fuell brand on small electric motorcycles and electric bicycles.

Conclusion
The Buell brand takes a fresh start. Ten new models are to come by 2024. Including everything from the super sports car to the enduro and that in different cubic capacity classes. One can be curious.
