Bulldog Motors imports exotic brands

Simple but affordable motorcycles for beginners

Are you looking for a more exotic model for beginners? We bring you closer to some manufacturers that hardly anyone has on their radar and who draw attention to themselves with their low price and contemporary look.

M.itt, AJS, Leonart or Masai – never heard of it? Not tragic. The brands mentioned are not necessarily associated with real high-end motorcycles. Nevertheless, the bikes of the companies mentioned, which are mainly made in China, could be an above all cheap alternative for all beginners. Last but not least, the new driving license regulation for 125cc (class B, code number 196) is currently generating increased interest in more affordable bikes for beginners or commuters. In this article we present some bikes from the above-mentioned and some other manufacturers in more detail. Incidentally, the company Bulldog Motors, which takes on the distribution of the brands presented below for Germany, plays a slightly overriding role in the constellation presented here.

Mitt Motorcycles

Manufacturer.

Mitt 125 DS Scrambler.

According to their own statements, Mitt Motorcycles is a manufacturer that has been offering motorcycles for almost 30 years. In addition to the development and sale of motorcycles, ATVs, quads and bicycles, the company also focuses on even more specialized areas such as jet skis and engines for boats. In the field of motorcycles, Mitt Motorcycles offers motorcycles between 125 cm³ and 400 cm³. The range of models also includes scooters from 50 cm³. The most powerfully motorized model is the Mitt 400 MB, which can be had for 4,999 euros. There are also some optically nice scramblers with 125 cm³, which cost almost 2,500 euros, in the range.

AJS Motorcycles

Manufacturer.

AJS Daytona 125.

The AJS Motorcycles brand might be familiar to one or the other motorcycle enthusiast. AJS is a traditional manufacturer from Wolverhampton (England) that has been producing two-wheelers since 1909. However, the brand from back then doesn’t have much in common with today’s brand. After several structural changes within the company, various models with 50 to 400 cm³ are currently being produced in China – scooters can now also be found in the product portfolio. The most powerfully motorized model is the AJS Highway 400. In addition to numerous bikes with a retro look, the manufacturer also offers a 50 cm³ model in a Supermoto design.

Leonart Motors

Manufacturer.

Leonart Tracker 125.

Leonart Motors from Spain cannot offer such a long tradition. The company has been manufacturing heavy machinery for industry since 1985. In 2004 the decision was made to try his luck in the motorcycle industry. The Spaniards focus on the essentials and want, according to their own statements, as much as possible "simple" Manufacture motorcycles with rather small cubic capacity that still meet the ravages of time. Accordingly, the focus is on motorcycles with a retro look. Prices start at € 3,399 and can rise to a maximum of € 4,799, depending on the model.

MAG Power Moto

Manufacturer.

Mag Power X-Trail 125.

In principle, the same applies to MAG Power Moto as to the brands described above in the article. Here, too, the focus is on motorcycles for beginners. In addition to models with 125 cm³, there are also bikes with 50 cm³ in the model portfolio. An electrically powered bike is also available. The model called Bombers, which in its basic features is reminiscent of the MSX 125 from Honda and is also available as an electric version, should also play a special role. Depending on the model, the prices range between almost 2,000 and 3,500 euros.

ZTech

Manufacturer.

ZTech ZT-68.

Unlike the brands presented above, ZTech focuses entirely on electromobility. In addition to scooters, the manufacturer also offers all sorts of other electrically powered vehicle concepts. This includes cars, bicycles, tricycles and various vehicles intended for delivery services. By the way, the two-wheeler shown in the picture is named ZT-68. The prices for the vehicles offered by ZTech start at a humane 799 euros, but can rise to 5,999 euros.

Masai Motors

Manufacturer.

Masai Muscle 125.

Masai Motors has one thing in common with the other brands in this article. It will be difficult for anyone looking for detailed information about the brand. Much more than the information that the French manufacturer gives on its Facebook page, apart from the models described, it will be difficult to find on the official website of the distributor Bulldog Motors. According to information on Facebook, the brand is owned by a company called Delta Mics, which was founded in Auxerre, France in 1964. Masai Motors is one of several brands under which motorized two-wheelers, ATVs and quads are put on the wheels. Motorcycles with 50 and 125 cm³ are offered. The bike shown in the picture above is one of them and is called the Muscle 125. The prices range between € 2,099 and € 3,399.

Bulldog Motors

Manufacturer.

Bulldog Venice.

Bulldog Motors not only handles sales for various brands in Germany, the company also puts some of its own models on the wheels. In addition to various scooters and tricycles, there are also electrically powered vehicles in the manufacturer’s model portfolio. Depending on the model, the prices for the vehicles are between 1,199 euros and 3,299 euros.

Conclusion

No question about it: one shouldn’t necessarily expect technical miracles from the brands and motorcycles presented here. As mentioned at the beginning, the bikes could be much more suitable for beginners and commuters who want to be on two-wheelers for little money.
