Bicycle overview: For everyone the right bicycle: City – Country – Mountains

With the city wheel to the supermarket or daily 15 kilometers with the e-bike to work? Cyclists who want to buy a new bike should be considered for what they want to use. The site online model overview will help you decide.

City bikes, also known as touring bikes or urban bikes, are particularly comfortable and the exact opposite of mountain bikes. They are the ideal companions for daily use. Here you sit almost upright, which makes them particularly popular with older people. Equally suitable for short or long distances, the city bikes can be used on the road and in the forest. The saddle is comfortably padded, the chain case and fenders ensure clean clothing.

The city bike family also includes comfort bikes that have even better suspension. Touring bikes are often available inexpensively from discounters. However, these are not always recommended. A good city bike costs around 500 euros.

Ideal for the small purse: Dutch bikes

The Dutch bike is a touring bike from the Netherlands that is known for its extreme durability and simplicity. Characteristic are the upright sitting position, the spring-loaded saddle as well as the coaster brake and a closed chain case. The circuit usually only has three gears. Since a Dutch bike does not require complex technology, there are models from around 300 euros.

Ideal for on the go: folding bikes

What used to be called a folding bike, which could be folded up into a small package but was not very convenient, is now called a folding bike and is of significantly higher quality. By dismantling and pushing together, the folding bike can be reduced to a minimum and can be taken in the car, bus or train. Folding bikes are even allowed as hand luggage on airplanes. Due to their rather small wheels, their use is primarily limited to road traffic. Practical mobility on two wheels is available for around 650 euros.

Ideal for fast and sweat-free riding: e-bikes

A good alternative are now also electric bicycles, which have long since freed themselves from the image of the "old people’s bike". The motorized bikes are suitable for everyone and especially for people who do not always want to exert themselves when driving or who live in hilly landscapes.

E-bikes have the usual pedal drive and an additional electric motor that can be switched on if desired. They can drive faster than 25 km/h and therefore belong to the light motorcycles, i.e. they are a kind of electric moped. You can only drive if you have at least a moped driver’s license. Caution: protective helmets are compulsory on e-bikes! There is now a large selection of e-bikes. If you want reasonable quality, you will get around 2.000 euros to invest.
