The overpants carry a gas pressure cartridge on the right hip, which fills an airbag on each side of the thigh and lower thigh in a flash. The system is triggered by a pull rope that is attached to the motorcycle. After deployment, the airbags can be repackaged and the system can be re-armed with a fresh cartridge.

The chance that a crowdfunding campaign will not succeed is also given and not unusual. CX Air Dynamics requires a total of 250 pre-orders at 375 euros each to produce the airbag pants. The corresponding Crowdfunding campaign runs until December 23, 2020.
