MOTORRAD has tried the Travel Star GTX waterproof touring boot from Daytona over a period of six years.

When you first bought a pair of boots from the German manufacturer more than six years ago Daytona you have no idea how many kilometers and hours they will be with you from now on.

Boots are completely convincing

But the Travel Star GTX from 2012 fit like a glove and from then on will accompany you on numerous motorcycle adventures and countless test drives under sometimes extreme conditions. It was the same as the boots, they always kept the feet dry and warm without any tendency to overheat in midsummer. As you can see in the picture, the Daytonas were not spared – and certainly not cared for. Pooh! But even if you have only seen fresh leather grease once in the entire time and the sole was rasped off here and there on the streets of Europe, the extraordinarily good condition of the entire material is surprising. Apart from optical defects. The Gore-Tex membrane worked right up to the end, the lining shows hardly any signs of use. The only reason why they are going their separate ways now: The rasping has been overdone. Really a shame, because from fit to handling to safety equipment, there is nothing to complain about.
