A 2018 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob 107 serves as the basis for this very special conversion. In 2019, the customizer Yuri Shif designed this bike for Diego Maradona. Background: Diego Maradona was named honorary president of this club in 2019 by Alexander Zaitsev, the owner of the Belarusian football club FC Dinamo Brest. For his birthday – and as a consolation because Maradona had to undergo knee surgery at the time of the appointment – the team owner decided to have a very special Harley made for him as a gift.

Maradona’s Harley is called ‘I’m Diego‘

“Yo Soy El Diego” is the name of the conversion, which means something like “I am Diego”. It took a year for the idea for the Maradona Harley to roll out of the custom bike workshop into the finished ‘Yo Soy El Diego’. The conversion is estimated to be worth between $ 30,000 and $ 40,000. The base price for a Harley-Davidson Fat Bob 107 amounted to 17,895 euros in Germany in 2018. But the conversion also shines with unmistakable details, such as the blue and white paint on the tank and the lettering “i Feliz Cumpleaños Comandante” – Happy birthday, “Comandante”.

Golden soccer ball spins in the front wheel

The most noticeable detail on the Maradona Harley is on the front wheel. A huge golden soccer ball is practically spinning in it. Driving dynamics are not the only ones wondering what touches down first in an inclined position: the silencer or the ball? But well, that’s probably not what this conversion should be about. “We designed and manufactured the wheels for this motorcycle ourselves. They are made from anodized aluminum, including the golden ball on the front wheel. The ball is a decorative element that attaches to the fork to hide the suspension mechanism.”, so the information of the customizer Yuri Shif.

Maradon-Harley is in the fan shop

Diego Maradona passed away in November 2020. What happened to his Harley is unclear. After the motorcycle was handed over to him in 2019, Maradona expressed a wish that it remain in Belarus – so that he could ride it during his visits to the country. The motorcycle is currently in the Dynamo FC fan shop in Brest.
