Brand new out of the box

The Bonhams auction house is auctioning a brand new Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE in Las Vegas on January 23, 2020. The special model was launched in 2006. There’s one fresh out of the box here.

In 1972 Paul Smart won in Imola on a Ducati 750SS. The victory in the long-distance classic made him and the Ducati immortal. In 2005, Ducati launched the Sport Classic series around the 1,000 Desmo V2, which also includes the Paul Smart 1000 LE belonged.

Only 2,000 copies of the Paul Smart 1000 LE were built at the time. With the limited edition, it was a coveted collector’s item right from the start. Anyone who hesitated too long at the time now has a new chance to acquire a Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE – in a completely new condition. Bonhams is offering a Paul Smart 1000 LE still packed in the box under lot number 119. The vehicle is therefore absolutely virgin. Not even engine oil found its way into the V2. The stickers with the original factory codes and various protective films on the tank and over the instruments can still be found everywhere.

The offer is rounded off by original signatures on the seat hump from the Ducati designers Pierre Terblanche and Miguel Galluzzi and a signature from Paul Smart himself. The Bonhams auction house is expecting a price between 22,000 and 29,000 euros for the Ducati.
