EICMA 2019

During the model presentations, Ducati boss Claudio Domenicali also announced two scrambler prototypes for EICMA. Now these have been revealed.

Ducati boss Claudio Domenicali presented the new model year of the D.ucati Scrambler, the actual show took place in the background on the big video screen.

Here the Italians showed a first picture of a Ducati Motard, which was now presented as a study at EICMA as a variation of the Scrambler line. The model is equipped with 17-inch spoked wheels at the front and rear and is otherwise significantly reduced. The 800 scrambler provides the drive.

Elephant comeback on a scrambler basis

The 1100 scrambler provides the basis for the second announced scrambler draft. The Desert X was displayed on the video wall – an enduro in the classic Lucky Explorer look of the Cagiva 900 Elefant from the 1990s. At the rear with a 17-inch wheel, at the front there is a 21-inch wheel between the fork tubes. Both rims are covered with coarse tires. There is also an engine guard, a raised rear silencer and a frame-mounted half fairing with a high window. The Desert X was also shown at EICMA.

Ducati had already shown studies based on series models at the EICMA in the past, which later went into series production themselves. We will see.
