What counts in sports boots? Protection, of course! However, we find that a good level of comfort is also a very useful thing. Because when your feet hurt, the fun is over all too quickly.
Workmanship and quality impression top
With this in mind, we have the specially designed for supermoto use Gaerne SG 10 tried out at the presentation of the KTM 690 SMC-R – and found it to be good! Vibram soles with interchangeable sliders on the heel and ball of the foot enable the typical sumo driving style. Plastic protectors on the ankle, heel and shin promise – together with a very stable construction – adequate protection without the SG 10 being excessively stiff or heavy.

The Gaerne SG 10 is particularly suitable for Supermoto drivers.
This leaves adequate freedom of movement with a convincing feeling of security. Above all, we like the fit and wearing comfort: soft padding in the ankle area is safe but comfortable, the harder padding on the shaft prevents pressure points from the robust and adjustable aluminum buckles. Workmanship and quality impression of the boot are top. The Gaerne SG 10 is a bit smaller, we wore a size larger than usual in street shoes in the test.

Conclusion
The Gaerne SG 10 convinced in the first test with good results in terms of safety, fit, comfort and workmanship. At 459.90 euros, however, it costs significantly more than other competing products.
