4th place: In MOTORRAD 9/2017 10 full-face helmets up to 250 euros were tested, compared and rated. Here are the results of the HJC IS-17.

The full-face helmet HJC IS-17 is available in sizes XXS to XXL. Its helmet shell is made of polycarbonate. According to the manufacturer, it weighs 1600 grams in size L, we measured 1618 grams when reweighing.

The HJC IS-17 is fixed with a ratchet lock. The HJC IS-17 is available in the colors white, black metallic and matt black, 16 decor variants as well as the versions yellow (209.90 euros) and Iron Man (279.90 euros) are available.

The scope of delivery includes: air deflector, wind deflector on the chin, sun visor, helmet bag, Skipfog visor (enclosed).

The helmet is made in Vietnam, its ECE test mark E 1 comes from Germany. It costs 199.90 euros without decor and 239.90 euros with decor.

Replacement visors for the HJC IS-17 are available in the versions clear (45.95 euros), tinted (45.95 euros) and mirrored (55.95 euros).

MOTORRAD conclusion on the HJC IS-17

In the 2013 mid-range helmet test, it was submitted for the HJC IS-17 “very good”, second place and for the “Buying tip”. The IS-17 is now a helmet oldie and no worse than it was back then (apart from the shock absorption values), but the other candidates have followed suit and have partly overtaken the HJC IS-17.
