The Firestone tires in the wide dimensions create a powerful appearance of the big Rebel as a bobber. The raised rump made of aluminum goes well with it.

The front of the bobber was lowered by 25 millimeters: the fork was pushed further through the bridges. That should have helped the handling.

After the CB 1000 R and CB 650 R, Honda Europe once again asked customizers for conversions. This time for the CMX 1100 Rebel. FCR Original deliver two.

Honda is preparing to become the new custom queen from the Far East. What Yamaha started with the Yard Built a good seven years ago, Honda would like to successfully present with similar key data: Although it is off the shelf, rebuilding is almost even easier. Nafter the CB 1000 R 2019, most recently the naked 650 Customs, now two humorous conversions of the large double clutch chopper from Honda, the CMX 1100 Rebel.

FCR Original wanted to highlight the practical and playful side of the Rebel, but make it sportier, more muscular and more aggressive. That is not possible with the original tires. A conversion of the swingarm enabled the installation of longer Ohlins dampers and a 190/55 ZR17 tire. The required rim is provided by a Honda CB 500 F. The front fairing is self-made and sits 25 mm lower, the new handlebars ensure more control. In addition to these improvements in driving dynamics, FCR designed the area around the tank purely for optics and had it manufactured using the latest manufacturing techniques. Constructed by 3D scan and printed from polyester-carbon fibers, the new tank cover lies over the actual sheet metal tank, bridges the gap to the steering head sensibly and covers the front triangle frame harmoniously and welcoming. The French use the same technology at the rear with the short rump, supplemented by minimal LED lighting and an Alcantara seat. The 1100 twin with the DCT transmission from the Honda Africa Twin remains of the FCR Original Series except for the stainless steel system.

Straight from the store the Honda CMX 1100 Rebel is reminiscent of a mixture of soft chopper and bobber. FCR would like to underline the bobber thicker for the second conversion of the big rebel. The swing arm and the chassis remain standard, the fork was pushed through by 25 millimeters at the front. FCR goes much deeper into the matter when choosing the rims. Specially made wire rims wear thick bobber rubbers. The resulting beefy appearance is reinforced by the tank cover from the 3D printer known from the CMX Sport, as well as optically stretched by the longer line. A ceramic-coated FCR original exhaust adorns the 1100 DCT twin and gives it the finishing touch.

Many are beautiful, but also impassable.

Better to leave it in its original condition.

Conclusion

For years Honda was as far removed from custom as Harley was from the travel enduro. But times change every minute and Honda is pushing the custom issue out of the box with vigor. First the CB 1000 R, then the 650 and now the chopper with the enduro engine in the frame and automatic transmission. Oh, and Harley builds travel enduros. Who would have believed in both five years ago?.
