Honda Super Cub C 125

From October for 3,690 euros

It’s called the Honda Super Cub C 125, among other things, it will meet the Euro 4 standard with ABS and will finally be available on the German market from October 2018. Price: 3,690 euros. Colors: Pearl Niltava Blue or Pearl Nebula Red.

D.he light-dark blue Super Cub with a red single seat was shown as a study at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2015 and 2017. It was also on display at EICMA 2017 – still with the name added "study". But that’s exactly how it will turn out – and that’s absolutely amazing, at least some of the editorial staff think. The market launch date is October 2018. So far, the Cub has never officially been in Germany. At least not as a Super Cub. It was launched in 2008 under the name Innova on the German market and in the MOTORRAD test.

Pragmatic mode of transportation, great city bike

At that time, many colleagues laughed at the 125cc. But that doesn’t matter to the Honda Super Cub, because it is by far the most successful motorized two-wheeler in the world, this one "two-wheeled thing with a four-stroke engine that looks like a scooter but is basically a motorcycle", Rolf Henniges wrote about Innova back then. And bought one; It is unbreakable and cheap too.

"Cub" stands for cheap urban bike, so "inexpensive city motorcycle". In Germany the Innova cost around 1,900 euros, in Asia 900. Another difference to the Asia models: injection instead of carburettor.

Price: 3,690 euros

The Honda Super Cub develops 9.7 HP and 10.4 Nm from its 125 cm³ two-valve, four-stroke single cylinder. It is shifted by a four-speed gearbox with foot rocker switch and automatic clutch. There is no clutch lever. The final drive takes place via a chain. With its steel frame, the Super Cub weighs 109 kilograms when fully fueled. Front and rear, 17-inch cast aluminum rims with a 70/90 tire at the front in the 26 telescopic fork (100 mm travel) and an 80/90 counterpart at the rear between the two shock absorbers with 84 mm travel. A 220 mm disc at the front takes care of the delay part, while a 130 mm drum brake supports the rear. All lights use LED technology. Honda specifies the seat height as 780 mm. With the 3.7 liter tank, ranges of up to 245 kilometers should be possible.

The ignition works keyless as a smart key system. The cockpit uses a combination of digital and analog displays.

The Honda Super Cub C 125 will be available from October 2018 in two color variants – Pearl Niltava Blue and Pearl Nebula Red. The price is 3,690 euros – including VAT and ancillary costs.

Golden Super Cub on the occasion of her 60th birthday and the one hundred millionth cub.

The Honda Super Cub is considered the best-selling motor vehicle in the world. In 2018 the Cub returns to Europe. The very first Super Cub C100 rolled off the production lines in Japan in 1958, and Honda as the vehicle manufacturer was just 10 years old.

On the occasion of the one hundred millionth (!) Cub and also on its 60th birthday, Honda made a special model especially for the Tokyo Motor Show 2017. Appropriately in gold. The color refers to the gold model from 1971, which was produced on the occasion of the ten millionth Super Cub.
