New sponsor, proven team
The Honda factory team in the Superbike World Championship will again be at the start in 2021 with the driver pairing Alvaro Bautista and Leon Haslam.

In 2019, Honda returned to the Superbike World Championship with a works team, and in 2020 they gathered data and experience with the new Fireblade. In the 2021 season, the knot should burst and they want to ride at the top.
Proven driver pairing
The Japanese rely on a proven driver pairing. Alvaro Bautista got his best result last season with a third place and finished the season in ninth place with 113 points. Team mate Leon Haslam also got 113 points in the final score and ended up in tenth place overall. The contracts for both pilots run until the end of the 2021 season.
Visually and technically, the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R has only undergone minimal further development for the new season. The familiar HRC design remains. The lubricant manufacturer Motul is now on board as a major sponsor with a corresponding presence on the fairing.

Team manager Leon Camier is also new to Honda. The way to success should also be paved by increased cooperation with colleagues from MotoGP, which should primarily extend to the field of electronics.
