With their conversion kits, the designers at Hookie Co. make sure that the respective base motorcycle is not changed in its basic state. So it’s more of an add-on than a conversion kit. “This is always one of the greatest and most important challenges for us. Changing the design without affecting the original motorcycle too much.”, says Nico Muller, designer and co-founder of Hookie Co.

AE 12 add-on parts from the 3D printer

The core of the Ducati Scorpion conversion around the Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled consists of the side panels with integrated additional lighting. These can be attached to the original tank bracket using the specially designed brackets. All cladding parts are made of AE 12, a material system for plastic components. The parts are manufactured using a 3D printing process. Hookie Co. reinforces it inside with an aluminum frame. AE 12 should be particularly flexible so that a fall does not necessarily lead to a broken or torn panel.

The design concept Ducati According to Hookie Co. “show the variety of design options”. There will be ten different designs, each of which will be offered as a unique piece. There will soon be a limited edition of the add-on kits. Prices have not yet been announced.

Sports shoe as inspiration for remodeling

As inspiration for the design shown here “Confident purple” According to the designer, a sports shoe was used. Like a sneaker as a companion in all areas of life – in leisure time, at work or for sports – the universal talents of the Ducati scrambler Desert Sled will be stressed. The add-on kit should make it look even sportier. “The designs and typography from the ‘Confident purple’ design are an inspiration from science fiction films, Akira and the 90’s.”, says the designer Nico Muller.

Conclusion

According to their own statements, the designers at Hookie Co. saw earlier “lively on the original main frame”. Nice and practical for everyone interested that the focus is now on user-friendly mounting kits that change the design of the motorcycle, but otherwise leave the original condition untouched.
