Electric cake becomes an ant custom bike

The Dresden designers from Hookie.Co are known for their excellent designs and the conversion kits for their own custom bikes. Hookie also has something on offer for the Osa + cake.

The e-motorcycle cake Osa To assume an unimportant design would be an affront. But the better is the enemy of the good and this “enemy” comes from Dresden and is called Nico Muller. The design part of Hookie.Co With supposedly simple and yet excellent measures, he not only manages to give the very strictly drawn Osa new lines, but also – please sit down – a large piece of everyday suitability, which is rather unusual for a custom bike. And as always with Hookie.Co: the design becomes a conversion kit for the home screwdriver.

Baking mix for the electric cake

The Dresden baking mix for the cake Osa + was “Ant” baptized (in German “ant”), costs 2,400 euros and weighs around 15 kilos. A new LED headlight including a new bracket from Hookie is included. In this way, the somewhat jagged front of the Osa is significantly calmed and the entire Osa comes into closer focus. The completely redesigned rear section naturally catches the eye. Hookie forms a kind of monocoque out of 3-millimeter-thick aluminum, which is screwed onto the profile frame of the Osa shortly after the steering head, imitates the shape of a riding saddle towards the seat and finally spans a new taser-shaped rear light and then as a slightly motocross-like rump expires. The aluminum part is held in place by just three 3D-printed clamps that are attached to the frame. Also included in the price is a new upholstery – made vegan – which, in combination with the new bodywork, lowers the sitting position by one centimeter.

Another important and extremely clever component is almost invisible: Under the tight frame tube of the Osa +, Hookie der Ant mounts a new footrest bracket, which allows the notch to be individually positioned. Even a chopper-like sitting position is possible. The small luggage basket on the Cake’s battery is also new. Also made of aluminum, it is attached with a long Velcro strap and allows smaller items of luggage to be transported. The luggage volume is expanded by a backpack specially designed for the Ant, which is placed over the frame in a similar way to saddlebags and lashed to the new paneling. The kit is rounded off by LED indicators, new handles and a sticker set for designing the Ant.

3 – weeks delivery time

If you want to convert your Cake Osa + Ant even further, you can order a new paintwork directly from Hookie and convert it to 14-inch balloon tires from Bridgestone. Price on request. The kit is delivered in three to four weeks after ordering.

Cake Osa+

As standard, the Cake Osa weighs 99 kilograms, including the battery with 2.5 kWh. With the 10 kW motor and its 42 Nm, it can accelerate the Osa up to 90 km / h. A range of up to 84 kilometers should be possible.

How do you feel about the electric motorcycle??

Out of the question for me.

The future of the two-wheeler for urban traffic.

There is no getting around the electric motorcycle.

Conclusion

2,400 euros for the do-it-yourself kit or 16,000 euros for a completely rebuilt Ant by Hookie, including a new Osa + cake, of course. Sounds fair for an electric custom bike whose e-base costs a good 10,000 euros.
