For the 2021 model year, Husqvarna has removed the 701 models from Svart- and Vitpilen from the range. In order to fix the youngsters, the manufacturer is now launching the Svartpilen in the 125cc class. There are no official pictures yet (that’s why the lead shows the Svartpilen 401), but we have already gathered a lot of information.

The recipe for the new light motorcycle corresponds to that of the larger models. The basis for the Svartpilen 125 is the KTM Duke 125. In addition, Husqvarna then mixes the well-known Svartpilen design line, which mimics a monocoque. The 125cc is only offered with spoked wheels. The single-cylinder four-stroke engine, trimmed to Euro 5, has an output of 15 hp and a maximum torque of 12 Nm. The dry weight is given as 146 kilograms – seven more than in the Duke. The maximum speed should be almost 120 km / h. It is shifted by a six-speed gearbox.

The 17-inch spoked wheels are fitted with coarse-tread Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires. The Bybre brake system uses a 320 mm disc and a four-piston caliper attached radially at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. The ABS can be deactivated on the rear wheel. A round digital cockpit sits in front of the wide tubular handlebar with a central strut. The lighting relies on LED technology all round.

The new Husqvarna Svartpilen 125 will go on sale from February at prices from 5,150 euros. It is priced between the KTM Duke 125 and the Svartpilen 401.

opinion poll

Do you know someone who, thanks to the new driving license regulation, has got a 125cc??

Voted 5750 times

Yes, of course, myself!

Yes, I know someone who took advantage of this opportunity.

No, I don’t know anyone.

Conclusion

The Svartpilen 125 remains true to its line even as a light motorcycle. However, the KTM subsidiary is sticking to the well-known Svartpilen line when it comes to pricing. More than 5,000 euros for a 125cc should severely limit the customer base.
