At first glance, the special design of the Icon Airflite Inky is particularly striking. How does the full-face helmet fare in the first test?

Anything but ordinary! This applies to Icon Airflite not only for the visual impression of the Inky decor variant shown here, but also for almost every other design, for example the Synthwave decor, which is visually reminiscent of the 80s, or the Battlescar variant, which could also come from the video game Halo.
Sun shield knows how to please
Of course, Icon also offers more common color variants in its portfolio of 20 designs, but the Airflite remains an extraordinary helmet even then. Which is mainly due to the huge visor that covers the chin part. Like the integrated sun visor and the rear spoiler, this can be replaced by colored alternatives. In the test, we really liked the optionally available external sun shield, which visually mutates the Airflite into an off-road helmet within just under a minute.
It’s just a shame that the visor and shield cannot be used at the same time. For the enduro look, you have to wear cross goggles that are appropriate to the species or use the integrated sun visor. The Airflite’s fit takes a bit of getting used to, but it is okay, even the rather heavy 1,690 gram weight doesn’t bother in practice. On the other hand, points are deducted for small, annoying bulges in the large visor.
Noticed positively: Unique look, high degree of customization
