In the negotiations with the Motorsport Working Group (AGM) in the Motorcycle Industry Association (IVM), Motor Presse Stuttgart impressed with MOTORRAD action team not only as the organizer, but also with a large package of media services in the major brands of auto motor und sport up to MOTORCYCLE and PS. In addition, Motor Presse Stuttgart will take over the complete marketing of the series, from the acquisition of technical and series sponsors to the marketing of advertising space on site.

In the AGM, the five manufacturers BMW Motorrad, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha are formed as promoters and rights holders of the IDM. Together with the German Motorsport Association (DMSB), the AGM developed new regulations and new classes. The predicate classes are now Superbike 1000, Supersport 600, the new Supersport 300 and the sidecar. The three branded cups BMW Boxer-Cup, Suzuki GSX-R 1000-Cup and Yamaha-Dunlop-R6-Cup and a brand-open Twin 700-Cup complement the six planned racing weekends. As a season highlight, the Superbike 1000 class will have another guest start at the SBK World Championship at the Lausitzring.

The IDM will start its first races on the Grand Prix circuit at the Nurburgring in around nine weeks. The designated series manager Norman Broy is looking forward to it: “We have a lot of work to do now, but when the first engines warm up, things really take off.” Peter Paul Pietsch, Head of the Motorcycle and Aviation Division at Motor Presse Stuttgart, comments on AGM’s decision: “It’s a big challenge for MOTORRAD action team, but I am sure that we can handle it with our experienced and well-versed team.” As part of the contract, the organization team books race tracks, sets up and dismantles the paddock, negotiates catering, organizes PR work and produces PR content.
