the Indian FTR 1200 was one of the most eagerly awaited new models of the past few years. And we had to be patient for a long time before the first prototype became the production model. Last year, the FTR 1200, which was ready for series production, finally followed at the INTERMOT in Cologne. Now, almost nine months later, the chic retro bike can be customized a bit. The US manufacturer has the Wheels & Waves in Biarritz used five new tank covers for the FTR 1200.

A total of 100 copies of each of the five versions are produced, which can be purchased from selected Indian dealers. For the time being, Indian did not mention in the corresponding press release whether German dealers will also be given some copies. In the US, the covers are said to be available for US $ 699 apiece. The rest of the new designs were created by well-known artists and customizers.

The tank cover from RISK is called “A New Day”.

One of the covers, which shows a Chinese dragon as the main motif, comes from skateboarding legend Steve Caballero and is called “Cab Dragon”. Another variant called “The Devil Within” was developed by Dean Stockton, who is also known by the synonym D * Face. Adam Turman, who is employed by Indian Motorcycles, opted for an orange paint with rather dark graphic elements for his design “Rising From The Ashes”. The cover called “Meant To Tell You” by graffiti artist Ryan Wilson (aka. “ThankYouX”), who decided on a white base coat with additional brightly colored elements, looks a bit friendlier. The last of the five covers is also by a graffiti artist. The artist, known in the scene as RISK, also opted for more bright colors for his “A New Day” design. Butterflies are also part of his work.
