Rear brake line causes problems

Motorcycle manufacturer KTM is recalling 790 Adventure and 790 Adventure R machines from the years of construction 2019 and 2020 due to a problem with the rear brake line.

According to data from KTM the brake hose that connects the rear brake caliper with the ABS pressure modulator does not meet the required specifications. The fitting is too short. Extreme braking maneuvers with the rear brake and the resulting heat may cause it to fail. As the American traffic safety authority NHTSA reports, 3,164 machines are affected by the recall in the USA. No figures are yet available for Europe or Germany.

KTM is now calling all affected machines back to the workshops, where the rear brake line is being exchanged for a modified version with a longer fitting (35 instead of 20 mm). The Austrians put the workshop stay at a maximum of 1.5 hours. Machines that have not yet been delivered are converted directly at KTM.
