KTM in the 2019 model year
All news and prices

The new 790 Adventure, the comeback of the 690 SMC R – not only on the model side, KTM is attacking with undiminished vigor in the 2019 model year. Behind the scenes, the Austrians are already setting the course for the next expansion.

KTM continues on the road to success. That is known. But the real dimension of the ascent is only documented by concrete figures. 2010, the first year after the global financial crisis KTM 66,000 machines, in the 2018 season around 240,000 motorcycles with the KTM logo rolled off the production lines.

Internationally broadly positioned

A decisive factor for flying high: stepping onto the road. After the initial spark with the first Duke in 1994, five engine series are now fueling twelve different models. Off-road machines not included. The former niche provider continues to gain momentum, especially at the international level. KTM has been involved in India through its joint venture partner Bajaj since 2008.

KTM

Good news for all Supermoto fans: the KTM 690 SMC R is returning in the 2019 model year.

From 2021, mid-range models are to be manufactured in a joint venture with CF Moto in China. Is there no hair in the soup of success? Just a thin one. In MotoGP, the men in orange, who are used to winning in sport, have a harder time against the giants of the industry than expected. Perhaps a beacon to approach the planned further economic rise with cautious realism.

It is also gratifying that KTM supplies almost all target groups. A1 license holders can use the RC 125 or the 125 Duke. Many models can also be throttled to 48 hp, which should be interesting for owners of the A2 driver’s license. However, super sports enthusiasts will also go away empty-handed in the 2019 model year. Perhaps this will change in the near future and KTM will use its experience from MotoGP and set up a successor to the RC8.
