EICMA 2019

Moto Morini is expanding its model range to include a new, large scrambler model. The Super Scrambler relies on the 1,187 cm³ V2. It will celebrate its premiere at EICMA 2019.

Moto Morini and Scrambler are not a completely new combination. The Italians are also launching a scrambler variant on the new generation of models in Chinese hands. The M.oto Morini Super Scrambler celebrates its world premiere at EICMA 2019.

Moto Morini takes a classic approach to the scrambler theme: the street version of the V2 models is trimmed to the new niche with studded tires on wire-spoke wheels, a higher exhaust and longer spring travel. The well-known 1.187 cm³ 87-degree V2 is adapted to the new purpose by means of modified coordination. In bare numbers that means 116 hp at 8,000 tours and 108 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm.

Studded tires on wire spoke wheels

The wheel train remains with 17-inch rims with a width of 3.5 and 5.5 inches – but in wire-spoke design. Tubeless tires in sizes 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear are mounted on it – Pirelli supplies the tread with the Scorpion Rally STR. The spring elements are adapted to light off-road use. The fully adjustable USD fork at the front works with 120 mm of travel, the rear suspension strut with hydraulic preload and rebound adjustment offers 110 mm of travel. In terms of assistance systems, the Super Scrambler is limited to an ABS that can be switched off and works with a 320 double disc system and Brembo four-piston calipers at the front and a 220 disc at the rear. Also worth mentioning are the seat height of 830 mm and the weight, which should be 202 kilograms when ready to drive.

Moto Morini

The optics of the Moto Morini Super Scrambler are shaped by protectors on the fork bars, perforated panels on the cooler flanks, perforated side covers, a stepped seat and the cranked handlebars, a round LED headlight with daytime running light corona ring and a small lamp mask. In addition, there is a double-pipe rear silencer system that is pulled slightly upwards.
