The first MotoGP test for the 2021 season was scheduled to take place in February. But again the Covid19 virus destroys all plans.

As announced by FIM, IRTA and Dorna Sports, the shakedown tests planned from February 14th to 16th, as well as the official Sepang test from February 19th to 21st, will be canceled. The ongoing corona pandemic and the resulting bans and complications have made it necessary to cancel both events, which should have taken place in February at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

More days of testing in Qatar

To compensate, two additional official test days and a shakedown test day were held in March before and in addition to the previously confirmed Qatar test on the Losail International Circuit, so that the teams can prepare more easily before the 2021 season. A shakedown test will take place on March 5th, in which only test riders and rookies of the MotoGP class are allowed to take part. On March 6th and 7th, all other drivers can then take part in two additional official test days. The actual Qatar test, which is currently planned for March 10th to 12th at the Losail International Circuit, is currently still confirmed, although further updates or changes may be possible.
