Tour tip

Through the curves with your knee on the ground? Is possible on this day tour, but not the modus operandi. Rather, the small streets on the Alb plateau are reminiscent of American mini highways. We have collected some of these bringers of joy for you.

The charming round between Weilheim / Teck and Heroldstatt is a typical example of a “unpolished tour jewel”. Fast curve passages are less common than contemplative pleasure sections and small streets with an almost infinite amount of sky and landscape. Spectacular destinations such as the Laichingen Deep Cave are not inflationary on our route, but there are plenty of heartwarming details that you should pause to appreciate.

Route

  1. Start in Weilheim, via Gruibingen to Muhlhausen im Tale and into the half-timbered village of Wiesensteig. Here up on the pass-like curve road to Hohenstadt and on to Westerheim. Shortly before the town center, turn right to the Schertelshohle on small, romantic streets.
  2. If you feel hungry, stop at the inn “Rossle”, otherwise start from Westerheim towards Donnstetten. Possibly speed down to the valley on the bobsleigh run. Past the 872 meter high Romerstein to Bohringen, then via Zainingen briefly on the B 28 and before Feldstetten turn right towards Heroldstatt / Ennabeuren, at the foot of the hill take the small connecting road right up to Darrieus-Quirl and the Albschonstatt Chapel.
  3. Start in Heroldstatt, alternatively in the Sonthofen cave. In any case, follow the road to Seissen and then turn left onto Wennender Strabe to Wennenden. Via the B 28 and Suppingen to Laichingen, before that turn right to the Tiefenhohle. Visit about an hour.
  4. Start in Laichingen, via Machtolsheim to Merklingen, left towards Hohenstadt, halfway right to Drackenstein. Then in an easterly direction to Aufhausen, here again west to Bad Ditzenbach. Before the beautiful hairpin bends to Ditzenbach turn right and take a break in the “Castle ruins” Berneck, then via Auendorf past Sielenwang back to Gruibingen.
