Episode # 18 – Riding a motorcycle at over 30 degrees

As soon as summer really starts, some motorcyclists are already complaining about the heat. But if you don’t like to ride a motorcycle with a T-shirt and sneakers, clothing manufacturers and their textile suits promise all kinds of things. Also and especially in combination with a waterproof membrane. In fact, the selection of heat-resistant motorcycle clothing has never been as large as it is today, and with the right equipment, even tours to the warm south are fun.

In an interview with Unterwegs department head Thorsten Dentges, travel editor Ferdinand Heinrich-Steige talks about the best compromise in hot temperatures, about melting wax-cotton jackets and why a climate membrane is sometimes best if you can remove it from the suit. If, like Thorsten, you are also looking for the holy grail, i.e. the ideal textile combination, you might get some valuable suggestions in this episode. At least until the onset of winter, when many people ask themselves how one can still ride a motorcycle at these temperatures …
