In this article:

  • Motor rubs less
  • Chassis dampens better
  • Significantly more electronics
  • Price and colors 2021
  • Conclusion

Already clear: the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR still counts as a new development, so no far-reaching interventions were expected or necessary for the new model year 2021 and the necessary Euro 5 homologation. Nonetheless, in Varese handicrafts were made here and there, with the measures being imposed Basically cover with those in the 800 models.

Motor rubs less

To reduce friction losses in the engine, the bucket tappets and the valve guides in the cylinder head are DLC-coated (diamond-like carbon, known from spring elements). Furthermore, the primary drive has been re-geared. Said bucket tappets are acted upon by new camshafts with changed timing. Furthermore, the connecting rod bearings seem to have been reconfigured as well. The manifold of the still four-flow exhaust system is definitely new. With all these measures, the four-wheeler continues to push 208 hp from its 988 cc at 13,000 tours and is slightly better in the juice with 116 Nm at 11,000 rpm. That juice reaches the final drive via a fully reinforced gearbox with the new EAS 3.0 Quickshifter.

Chassis dampens better

Fundamental changes to the semi-active suspension from Ohlins were not necessary. Only the settings and maps have been optimized. So it stays with the Ohlins NIX EC fork with 120 millimeters of spring travel in the front and 43 millimeters standpipe diameter and the TTX strut in the single-sided swing arm, also with 120 millimeters of spring travel. The well-known Stylema brake system from Brembo slows down the forged rims. The transition from the chassis to the electronics area is seamlessly bridged by the new tilt-sensitive ABS from Continental in the form of the MK-100 system.

Significantly more electronics

The new ABS is fed by a likewise new acceleration sensor, the IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), which, in addition to the cornering ABS, also controls the lift control, traction control and launch control. The new on-board system is complemented by a colored TFT dashboard with a 5-inch screen. It comes with a Mobisat tracker and can be connected to the smartphone via the app via Bluetooth.

Price and colors 2021

There are two colors to choose from for the 2021 model year. The classic FireRed / Matt Metallic / Dark Gray or the high-contrast Matt Metallic Aviation Gray / Metallica Dark Gray / Fluorescent Yellow. Prices: from 32,300 euros.

Conclusion

Now also Euro 5 for the currently most powerful naked bike. The changes mainly take place in the engine and on the electronics side. It remains with sheer performance, stark design and of course the stark price.
