MV Agusta presents the new Brutale in three versions. For model year 2021 there is a Euro 5 update, a 5.5-inch TFT screen and a six-axis sensor that enables cornering ABS.

The in-line three-cylinder with counter-rotating crankshaft now delivers 112 in the basic Rosso variant, which is two more horsepower. In the RR versions, it remains at 140 hp. MV made adjustments in the engine that should lead to less friction. New injection nozzles are in use, which, with a precise throttle valve control, determine the melody, which sounds the sound of the environment via a new Euro 5 exhaust system. There is also a more robust basket for the SCS coupling.

Cornering ABS, cornering lights and traction control

However, the most noticeable effects on the new Brutale are likely to be provided by the new six-axis sensor, which provides the data for cornering ABS and lean angle-dependent traction control, among other things. The package includes a wheelie control, which should not prevent the wheelie at all, but make it controllable, and also a new LED cornering light. Technique brutal.

All of the new electronics in the cockpit are visible on the 5.5-inch screen. The dashboard can be used as a navigation system and the smartphone can be linked to the MVs Ride app. With the app, Brutale pilots can configure their bikes and also record routes. It is operated via a joystick on the left of the handlebar.

For the chassis, on the other hand, MV relies on mechanics, stiffens the frame, and gives the swing arm a new deflection and a new damper. The fork has been re-tuned and should provide more comfort and a good balance between the rear and the front. Speaking of comfort: the seat on the new one MV Agusta Brutale should also be more convenient. Words that have probably never been written about a brutal.

SCS stands for Smart Clutch System. With this brutal, pilots can do without using the clutch lever when stopping and starting off. Shifting is still in the hands – or rather, the feet of the driver.

Prices MV Agusta Brutale 2021

The MV Agusta Brutale Rosso costs 12,990 euros, 1,000 euros more than its predecessor. The RR version costs 16,490 euros and the RR with SCS 16,990 euros (prices for the 2020 models: 11,990 euros (Rosso), 15,990 euros (RR) and 16,990 euros (RR SCS)).

Conclusion

It’s more than just a facelift. MV Agusta uses the Euro 5 update that is due and equips the Brutale with a six-axis sensor that, in addition to cornering ABS, also brings lean angle-dependent traction control and cornering lights into series production. This and the changes in the chassis bring more safety, driving fun and comfort to the new Brutale, which is still unique with its automatic clutch.
