Rosso, RR, RR SCS and RR SCS RC – to break down the letter salad for non-MV-connoisseurs right at the beginning: Rosso is the entry-level version with 112 hp. The RR rolls in with 140 hp. The addition “SCS” stands for “Smart clutch system”. With this dragster variant, drivers can stop and start without the clutch. And the MV Agusta Dragster RR SCS RC is also equipped with carbon components and a racing kit. The racing kit increases the performance to 150 PS and provides an exhaust system from SC-Project plus a matching ECU with new mapping. There can be a price difference of around 9,000 euros between the basic variant and the RC dragster if the pricing is based on the last model years.

Euro 5 and six-axis sensor

What’s new on the MV Agusta Dragster in model year 2021? The engine now meets the Euro 5 standard. The engineers have reduced the coefficients of friction, plus there are new injection nozzles and more precise throttle valve control. The clutch also gets a new, more robust clutch basket.

Thanks to the six-axis sensor, the new MV Agusta dragsters now roll with ABS cornering and lean angle-dependent traction control. The dragster also offers a cornering light function from model year 2021. Another helper on board is the wheelie control, which, according to MV, should not necessarily prevent the wheelie, but rather make it easier to control.

5.5 inch screen and more convenience

A 5.5-inch screen in the cockpit provides information. The info instrument can also be connected to the MV Agusta Ride app, which in turn enables functions such as configuration of the bike or route recording.

For the chassis, on the other hand, MV relies on mechanics, stiffens the frame, and gives the swing arm a new deflection and a new damper. The fork has been re-tuned and should provide more comfort and a good balance between the rear and the front. The bench filled with new material should also provide more comfort.

MV Agusta Dragster RR SCS

SCS stands for Smart Clutch System. With this dragster, drivers can stop and start without the clutch.

MV Agusta Dragster RR SCS RC

The crowning glory of the dragster series – as MV calls the RC variant – is limited to 200 pieces. It rolls on forged wheels and carries the front fender brackets, the side panels of the tank and the fender over the rear wheel in carbon. The racing kit to increase the power to 150 hp is part of the deal.

MV Agusta Dragster prices 2021

  • MV Agusta Dragster Rosso: 14,990 euros
  • MV Agusta Dragster RR: 18,990 euros
  • MV Agusta Dragster RR SCS: 19,490 euros
  • MV Agusta Dragster RR SCS RC: 21,990 euros

The prices for the 2020 models were 12,990 euros (Rosso), 18,490 euros (RR), 19,490 euros (RR SCS) and 21,490 euros (RR SCS RC).

Conclusion

The popular MV will probably arouse even more longings among fans with the six-axis sensor and the resulting cornering ABS, cornering light and lean angle-dependent traction control. Oh yes, it is now Euro 5-compliant too, and there will only be 200 of the RC variant.
