In this article, we show all of the newly introduced motorcycles that have been presented for the 2019 model year or that we assume will hit the market next year.

BMW – new R 1250 GS and S 1000 RR

The concept study BMW Concept 9cento, presented at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2018 on Lake Como, caused a sensation. It is quite possible that BMW is planning a similar sports tourer for the future.

The announcement of the new BMW R 1250 GS caused at least as much discussion. The successor to the bestseller R 1200 GS was announced in advance of INTERMOT. It should be available from October 2018. In addition to the new R 1250 GS, another model has been announced with the R 1250 RT, which will also be available at dealerships from October 2018.

The new BMW S 1000 RR was presented at EICMA 2018.

In addition, a new BMW F 850 GS Adventure awaits us, which we drove in front of our lenses as a Erlkonig at the beginning of the year and has now also been presented at the EICMA in Milan. Ducati presents sharpened Panigale V4

The new Ducati Panigale V4 was probably the highlight of the traditional Italian manufacturer at the last autumn trade fairs. This year the Ducati V4 R. The new R will produce a full 221 hp.

With the R version there is an even sharper variant of the Panigale V4 in model year 2019.

The Scrambler Icon is getting some updates for the model year. The Cafe Racer, the Full Throttle and the Desert Sled are also new. The biggest change to the new bikes is likely to be the newly added cornering ABS.

The Ducati Monster 1200 25 Anniversario presented at World Ducati Week 2018 is set to hit the streets this year.

The new models Ducati Hypermotard 950 / SP, Ducati Multistrada 950 and Ducati Diavel 1260 were also presented at EICMA. Also new is the Ducati 1260 Multistrada Enduro. Some other models such as the Ducati Monster 821 will also receive some updates and new paintwork in 2019.

Last year, Ducati ushered in a new era with the new Panigale V4. We would like Ducati to install the newly developed engine in a corresponding naked bike. The illustration called Ducati V4 Godzilla 1200 by MOTORRAD artist Stefan Kraft shows what something like this could look like.

Harley-Davidson – how about a scrambler?

Harley-Davidson didn’t make headlines with new models in the first half of 2018. The US manufacturer initially revolved around political issues. At the end of July, however, Harley provided plenty of talking point with the announcement of a new adventure bike and a new street fighter. More electric motorcycles are to follow by 2022. Harley is thus expanding its product portfolio and is also trying to gain a foothold in other motorcycle segments. Brave decision!

For the 2019 model year, the US manufacturer has also announced the FXDR 114, a new member of the Softail series. There is also optimization for some other bikes from the touring, trike and CVO segments as well as a new infotainment system.

Honda CRF 450 L already available

With the Honda CRF 450 L, Honda has presented a new bike that will hit the streets as early as October 2018. It is basically based on the competition bike CRF 450. In order to make the Enduro roadworthy, Honda had to turn a few screws.

The new Honda Super Cub will also be available from October. The Super Cub was presented as a concept study at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2015 and 2017. It also had its appearance at EICMA 2017. So now follows the market entry in Germany. It should be priced at around 3,600 euros.

At EICMA 2018 in Milan, Honda also presented a few more models for 2019. The models Honda CB 500 F, Honda CB 500 X, Honda CBR 500 R, Honda CBR 650 R and Honda CB 650 R are new.

Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 as a production model

The motocross models Husqvarna TX 125, Husqvarna TE 250i, Husqvarna TE 300i, Husqvarna FE 250, Husqvarna FE 350, Husqvarna FE 450 and Husqvarna FE 501 as well as the motocross were confirmed-“Mini”-Models Husqvarna TC 50 Mini, Husvarna TC 50, Husqvarna TC 65 and Husqvarna TC 85. The larger FC models (250, 350 and 450) can also look forward to some updates in 2019.

In 2016 we don’t have one yet “baptized” Bike caught as Erlkonig, which is technically strongly reminiscent of the 1290 Super Duke R from KTM. Unfortunately, Husqvarna did not delight us with a corresponding series model at this year’s EICMA. With a little luck, a presentation will follow next year.

Indian FTR 1200 is coming in 2019

Without question: Indian has a real blast for the coming model year with the FTR 1200. The newcomer was officially announced for the coming year at the Wheels and Waves in Biarritz. The motorcycle community first saw the flat tracker for the road at last year’s EICMA as a concept bike. So now the bike is actually coming onto the market as a production model.

Otherwise, Indian has given some models a few updates. For example, the Chief, Chieftain, Springfield, Scout and Roadmaster models are getting some new features.

Kawasaki W 800 returns

Some motocross models like the Kawasaki KX 450 will be revised for the coming year. In addition, some models will be available in new colors in the coming year.

Comeback: the Kawasaki W 800 returns in the 2019 model year.

The two supercharger models Kawasaki Ninja H2 and the carbon version will also receive some updates for 2019. From next year onwards, the engine will generate an enormous 231 hp. And the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, ZX-10R SE and ZX-10RR can look forward to a little more power in the 2019 model year. In addition, the Kawasaki ZX-6R will celebrate its comeback in Europe next year. Also new are the two 125cc Kawasaki Z 125 and Kawasaki Ninja 125.

At EICMA, Kawasaki also presented some new products for 2019. The legendary W 800 will celebrate its comeback in two different versions in the coming years. KTM 690 SMC R is celebrating its comeback

KTM is expanding its model range and has presented some new products for 2019. The announcement of the new KTM 690 SMC R, which will also be available as an enduro version, caused great joy.

Reason for joy for all Supermoto fans: the KTM 690 SMC R will celebrate its comeback.

In addition, the KTM 790 Adventure and an even sharper R variant were presented at EICMA. Also new is the KTM SX-E 5, which is powered by an electric motor. Many of the models that have now been officially announced were caught as Erlkonig last year. So also the KTM 1290 Super Duke R and the GT variant of the Super Duke, which will receive some updates in the 2019 model year. Otherwise, some off-road models will be revised for the 2019 model year.

The models KTM 390 Adventure and KTM 1290 Adventure S have already been caught as Erlkonig by our photographers. However, we will have to wait for the official presentation of the corresponding series models. Maybe next year it will happen.

Moto Guzzi – V85 comes as a production model

At EICMA 2017, Moto Guzzi presented a striking prototype with the V85 Concept. The enduro with its retro look will once again make an appearance at the major autumn trade fairs this year. This time, however, as a production-ready bike for the 2019 model year. Also new is the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber Sport. Otherwise, other new model variants of the Moto Guzzi V7 III or Moto Guzzi V9 are conceivable.

New Suzuki Katana is coming in 2019

At the last autumn trade fairs, Suzuki did not necessarily ignite a firework of innovations. This year a completely new model was presented with the presentation of the new Suzuki Katana at INTERMOT. The Katana also celebrated another appearance at the EICMA. In Milan, Suzuki showed the Katana in a black finish, which will also be launched in 2019. Otherwise, Suzuki has given the GSX-R 1000 and GSX-R 1000 R some updates.

Triumph Scrambler 1200 in two versions

Triumph presented the new Scrambler 1200 on October 24, 2018. Our Erlkonig photographers caught two versions of the new scrambler. In addition to a standard version, a more off-road version is in the starting blocks.

The new Scrambler 1200 will roll out to dealers in the 2019 model year in the variants XC and XE.

Two revised street models were also presented at INTERMOT in Cologne. The Triumph Street Twin and the Triumph Street Scrambler can look forward to updates.

The two T120 special models were also presented at EICMA “Diamond Edition” and “Ace” presented. In addition, the first pictures of a new Triumph Speed Twin 1200 have appeared, which will probably also appear in the 2019 model year.

Otherwise, rumors keep boiling up that Triumph could possibly work on a new Daytona after the Moto2 engine supplier deal. In any case, there is already a prototype for Moto2 test runs. Nothing has been officially announced yet.

Yamaha Tenere 700 is coming in 2019

Most motorcycle enthusiasts are sure to have seen the prototype Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid before. The prototype was presented for the first time at EICMA 2016.

Finally! The new Yamaha Tenere 700 will roll onto the streets as a production model in the 2019 model year.

And the wait is finally over. Yamaha presented the production model called Tenere 700 at EICMA 2018. It will roll out to dealers in the colors Ceramic Ice, Competition White and Power Black at the beginning of the second half of 2019.
