The strong offer makes the use of polycarbonate instead of GRP for the helmet shell, which is significantly cheaper to manufacture. According to the manufacturer, the new helmet is nevertheless already according to the new crash standard ECE-R 22.06 has been developed, homologation is still in progress.

A lot in the helmet

The equipment of the new Scorpion Can be seen: specially shaped, inflatable cheek pads, also especially for people who wear glasses, a temperature-compensating fabric for the washable inner lining, pinlock preparation, a foldable sun visor. Everything is already included. In addition, the helmet is prepared for the installation of the Scorpion Exo Com Bluetooth system. The chinstrap fastener comes as a micro ratchet.

Scorpion offers a total of 18 color and decor variants for the new Exo 520 Air, including three plain variants in white, black and matt black. Furthermore, the five decor variants Lemans, Tina, Shade, Cover and Laten, which are each available in three color combinations. In terms of price, the new Exo 520 Air in solid color starts at around 200 euros, the decor versions are offered for a good 250 euros.

Conclusion

Already a big surcharge with the equipment for the price. Polycarbonate helmets are always price-breakers, even if the material cannot keep up with GRP technically or optically in the long run, as these shells cannot be painted and are also very limited in terms of service life.
