The side spoilers developed by the Spaniards are intended to make the front of the sports motorcycles even more aggressive, but of course also bring aerodynamic advantages. Depending on the model, the manufacturer promises around 3.5 kg of additional downforce at 200 km / h, and this should increase to 8.3 kg at 300 km / h.
For common current athletes
The side spoilers are mounted on metal brackets that are attached to several original screw connections on the fairing. The wings themselves consist of a wing and side end plates. The assembly work is classified by Puig as easy and should only take about 40 minutes.

The small spoilers have transparent side panels.
These winglets are currently available for the BMW S 1000 RR from model year 2015, the Honda Fireblade (also as SP and SP2) from model year 2017, the Kawasaki ZX-10R (also RR and SE) from model year 2016, the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 (also R) from year of construction 2017 and the Yamaha YZF-R1 (also R1M) from year of construction 2015.
The price quoted for the winglets in various internet shops is around 170 euros. In Germany, the side spoiler kits do not seem to be sold yet. An inquiry to the manufacturer on the subject of ABE or an expert opinion revealed that homologation for road traffic is currently not being sought. The winglets are therefore only intended for use on closed-off routes.
Louis, as a sales partner of Puig in Germany, has already announced to MOTORRAD that he will not include the winglets in the delivery program.
