With the Oxygen, the Swiss manufacturer Quadro Vehicles has put a new electric scooter with a replaceable battery on wheels.

Most people are likely to be the manufacturer QAt least so far, uadro Vehicles have tended to associate three- and four-wheelers. The company from Switzerland is now expanding its business area and is launching a new electric scooter with a replaceable battery. The new scooter will be called Quadro Vehicles Oxygen and, according to the manufacturer, is particularly suitable for use in cities and on islands. The Oxygen is offered in various equipment variants that differ in terms of battery size and performance. The electric scooter will make its first official appearance at the Turin Motor Show, which will take place from June 19 to 23.

Two replaceable batteries

Quadro Vehicles equips the Oxygen with two batteries that can be found under the seat. A helmet can also be stowed there. The manufacturer specifies a weight of 93 kilograms including both batteries. The Oxygen is offered in two different configurations that differ in performance. There is a more powerful and a weaker variant. The Oxygen with 2.65 kW offers a maximum speed of up to 45 km / h and is therefore also suitable for owners of a car driver’s license. A version with 3 kW is also available, which reaches a maximum speed of up to 70 km / h. The battery capacity is 2.99 kWh. Quadro Vehicles states 80 kilometers (70 km / h version) and 84 kilometers (45 km / h version) for the maximum range.

The battery can be charged to up to 80% in five hours. The battery is fully charged in six hours. A double charger is optionally available, which provides a charging power of 54.7V and 10A. This should cut the loading time in half. The maximum transport weight including driver, passenger and luggage is 245 kilograms. The Swiss manufacturer has given the electric scooter a 220 disc brake at the front; a 200 mm disc brake decelerates at the rear. CBS is also on board. The information required is displayed on a 4-inch Bluetooth-enabled LCD screen. An app is also available that provides various information and statistics for the driver.

Price and market launch in Germany?

Prices start at 4,799 euros, at least in the manufacturer’s online configurator. How much time the delivery takes and whether there are additional costs for shipping cannot be seen during the ordering process. During the ordering process, a further 125 euros will be added to the total amount as a processing fee. In return, buyers who buy a standard model and extras online are currently saving 245 euros thanks to a discount.
