In Germany too, Ducati is recalling the two model variants XDiavel and XDiavel S from model years 2016 to 2018 because the side stand bracket could break.

On February 17, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) – the American equivalent of the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) – published a document according to which the side stand bracket of some Ducati XDiavel Could cause problems. The recall affects around 1,600 XDiavel models built between 2016 and 2018 and will start in the USA on March 15, 2021.

XDiavel recall in Germany

The side stand on the Ducati XDiavel was the reason for a recall in 2016. At that time, it was a fastening screw on the side stand plate that could possibly come loose that had the potential to trigger the sensor that pretended that the side stand would be folded out. This in turn means that the engine switches off automatically. At that time, machines from model years 2016 to 2017 were affected.
