The Honda crossover scooter X-ADV seems to be suffering from a heat problem. Continuous slow driving and high outside temperatures can lead to a build-up of heat that can cause the PPTC control module to overheat and, as a result, send the engine control to the emergency program.

Control module is to be exchanged

If the engine goes into the emergency program, it can lead to an acute lack of power. In addition, the gears of the dual clutch transmission can no longer be shifted.

According to an information paper, the EU X-ADV models from the construction period from January 2017 to October 2018 are affected by the recall, i.e. models from model years 2017 and 2018. The EU information leaves open how many vehicles are affected.

When visiting the workshop, the affected control module should be replaced by an improved version. It is currently not known when the recall will start in Germany.
