Even more displacement and Newton meters, but at the same time the weight screwed down. Does not sound bad.

Recall for Triumph Rocket III
Air in the brake

Rocket drivers watch out! Triumph calls the Rocket III models TFC, GT and R, built between October 2019 and August 2020, to the workshops. An incorrectly filled rear brake system can lead to the formation of air bubbles. The rear brake fluid is exchanged free of charge in the workshops.

According to a report from Triumph Motorcycles America LTD, Triumph has a recall campaign for 1,241 machines of the type Triumph Rocket 3 due to the possible presence of air in the braking system. Triumph in Germany confirms this recall as worldwide, also for the Rockets in Germany. The owners will be contacted by the KBA, the dealers will be informed. Triumph Germany did not name a number for the machines affected by the recall.

What happened?

According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Triumph estimates that approximately one percent of the 1,241 American motorcycles covered by this recall could have the fault. Accordingly, this number can also be transferred to the good 700 Rockets sold in 2020. These are the following models:

2020 Triumph Rocket 3 TFC

2020-2021 Triumph Rocket 3 GT

2020-2021 Triumph Rocket 3 R

On Rocket III models built between October 2019 and August 2020, the rear braking system may not have been properly inflated, which could result in air being present in the ABS modulator. If there is air in the ABS system, this could reduce the effectiveness of the rear wheel braking, which can lead to longer braking distances. In extreme cases, the loss of the braking effect can lead to an accident if the driver is not aware of the longer braking distance required.

Triumph USA states that while there have been several reports of rear brake pedal travel increases, there have been no accidents or injuries related to the problem.

How do you feel about recall?

Voted 2643 times

It’s annoying, but ultimately I benefit from it as a customer.

I feel insecure and I lose confidence in the technology / the manufacturer.

Conclusion

Triumph has to recall Rocket III models worldwide. Air bubbles can form in the rear braking system and thus affect braking performance.
