Lucy Glockner fastest woman ever

Carlin Dunne’s fatal accident overshadowed the Race to the Clouds 2019. In the background, records tumbled in several classes. An overview:

Above all, overall winner Rennie Scaysbrook set the record for Chris Fillmore’s motorcycles (9: 49.625 minutes) to 9: 44.963 minutes on his Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory. Never before has a motorcycle climbed the 4,302 meter high Pikes Peak near Colorado Springs so quickly.

On Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory, Scaysbrook set the new record for motorcycles: 9: 44.963.

All the more impressive is the drive of the fatally injured Ducati Streetfighter V4 driver Carlin Dunne, who had a clear lead over Scaysbrook before his crash just before the finish line. The race management estimated Dunne’s final time after the race to be around 9: 32.00 minutes.

German Lucy Glockner first woman under ten minutes

Besides Scaysbrook, only Lucy Glockner, who was already “Rookie of the year” in 2018, stayed below the magical 10-minute mark on her Wunderlich BMW S 1000 R. With 9: 58.878 she was the first woman ever to do this feat. Since Glockner’s team-mate Michael Dunlop had to cancel at short notice due to an injury, she was the only Wunderlich pilot.

Chris Fillmore briefly holds all the records

While Rennie Scaysbrook broke his overall record, Chris Fillmore set another record. The American competed in the lightweight class and conquered the mountain on a KTM 450 SX-F Supermoto in 10: 20.819 minutes, 15 seconds faster than all the riders in this class before him.

For a short time, Fillmore was the only driver who held the records in all three classes (light, middle and heavyweight) at the same time, because Rennie Scaysbrook did not start his run until later.
