Retro electric motorcycle for the US market

Electric motorcycle startups are springing up like mushrooms around the world. Revolt Electric Motorbikes now competes from the USA. And there is already a first teaser for a retro electric model.

R.evolt Electric Motorbikes should not be confused with the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Revolt. Revolt Electric Motorbikes is a subsidiary of Alternet Systems Inc. (ALYI). The Americans work full-time in the development of energy storage media, the construction of two-wheelers is just a by-product.

An electrically powered motorcycle combination is currently being developed under its own ALYI label, which is based very much on the legendary BMW 71 and is to be used primarily as a transport vehicle on the African continent. The company is also working on electrically powered small vans for Africa.

Absolute retro look

ALYI is now announcing another electric motorcycle under the Revolt Electric Motorbikes label. But this is designed for the US market, comes without a sidecar, but with a retro look that is also strongly reminiscent of old BMW models.

A first teaser picture shows an old BMW with a solo swing saddle, drop tank and spoked wheels. The BMW boxer is being replaced by an electric drive unit that acts like a boxer engine with shortened cylinders. A cardan shaft runs open to the rear wheel. More information about the new model will be available soon. A conversion kit for old BMW models to electric drive is also expected.
